In the latest episode of the new season of Izingane Zes’thembu, Mpumelelo Mseleku, son of well-known polygamist Musa Mseleku, introduced his newest girlfriend to his brother, Lwandle.
Her name is Amahle Biyelo, a 20-year-old currently completing her final year of study. Speaking about Mpumelelo, Amahle described him as “funny, loving, and kind.”
Mpumelelo has also showcased Amahle on his social media platforms. However, some viewers of the show have criticised him for continually dating multiple women without committing to marriage.
In the previous season, Mpumelelo informed his two girlfriends, Tirelo and his ex, Vuyokazi, that he would not be choosing either of them as his first wife, stating that he wanted his first wife to be a virgin.
At the time, he introduced a new woman as a potential first wife, but has not provided any updates on her since.
In a podcast interview with Gogo Skhotheni in 2023, Mpumelelo addressed speculation that he was following in his father’s footsteps, clarifying that his polygamous lifestyle is a personal choice.
“We have a lot of girlfriends, and then there would be one you choose to take home and introduce to the family,” he explained. “You can’t just have one girlfriend and make that girl your wife, only for that person to betray you. You have to date many women before choosing.”
He added: “I love women. I’d be lying if I said my father convinced me to be a polygamist. If I was doing it for him, I wouldn’t be able to continue. I’m still going to carry on. I won’t say how many women I plan to have, but it’s more than my father has.”
