Multichoice has reportedly responded to allegations made by actress Angel Zuma about her mistreatment on the set of Umkhokha: The Curse.
Angel played the role of Nomkhosi on the Mzansi Magic telenovela which wrapped up production in October 2024.
The Citizen reports that Multichoice says they take the well-being of their productions’ cast and crew seriously and are committed to fostering safe and supportive working environments.
Multichoice also added that they encourage all cast and crew to report incidents as soon as they arise as resolving past issues is challenging.
“However, MultiChoice remains dedicated to ensuring that all production personnel feel empowered to address any issues that may affect their well-being,” the statement reads.
This comes after Angel recently made shocking allegations about being mistreated after she resigned from the Rhythm World Productions production for a role in The Lion King.
In a series of emotionally charged YouTube videos which she also posted on Instagram, Angel said she was threatened and sabotaged, endured emotional abuse, and suffered depression as a result.
“This broke me down . I have not cried about this because of my rage towards the people that betrayed me. I have been bottling it up and it caught up with me while filming this episode . I had to edit it out because I could not edit the video without breaking down over and over again , and also because I don’t wanna be one of the people with their cameras rolling when crying/ breaking down,” Angel wrote on Instagram.

“@thereallebo_m you opened the industry for the South African kids forever and we will always be grateful! I am a proud South African in Canada making our culture known !,” Angel wrote.
