Enhle Mbali says she developed adult acne during her second pregnancy. The actress shared her “dark mark journey” with her Instagram followers.
She says it has been “really rough”.
“With my first [child], I was perfection, [sking] glowing. The second one, not so much. I had for the first time acne, and we call it adult acne. I was living in LA and I had mountainous, hiking fields on my forehead.
“I was at school when I was in LA, and I was a mother with no helper. It was just a lot for me to juggle,” Enhle said in a video she posted on Instagram.
The ‘Rockville’ actress says when she returned to South Africa, her dermatologist told her the acne could be hormonal.
“I was getting advice from everyone. I have used petrol; I dabbed petrol on the dark marks so they go away. It didn’t work. I have used many products, done chemical peels and the chemical peel I did, left me with scarring at the bottom of my eye,” she said.
Enhle shared some of the products that helped clear up her skin.

Enhle Mbali’s beauty secrets
Pregnancy skin issues aside, Enhle has always taken good care of her skin. She revealed in a 2018 People Magazine interview that she likes to keep her skincare routine simple.
- Moisturise twice daily
- Use a gentle face wash
- Don’t forget your sunscreen
- Drink lots of water
“I also use baby bum cream on my expression lines before I go to bed; trust me, it works!” she said.
She encouraged women to start their skincare routines as early as possible.
“Start a skincare routine and stick to it. If you are in your late 20s or older, it’s never too late to start using anti-ageing products. There is no such thing as black don’t crack – if you don’t take care of your skin, it will crack.”
