Dr Malinga has taken to social media to let Mzansi know that he is still alive and kicking.
The ‘Petronella’ hitmaker became the latest celebrity to deal with a death hoax.
Social media was abuzz over the weekend after a Facebook user wrote, “RIP Dr Malinga”.
This followed speculation that Malinga is dead and condolences started flooding in.

However, Malinga took to his social media pages to let his fans know that he is still alive.

“Hi I’m alive,” he wrote on Twitter on Sunday.

After the post, he even went live on Facebook, celebrating his son Tiisetso’s 15th birthday.
Many tweeps have expressed their love for Malinga and relief that he is alive.
Celebrity death hoaxes
In April, Yvonne Chaka Chaka was left furious after an entertainment site reported that she died and posted her obituary.

Eddie Murphy has also been a victim of being reported dead when he wasn’t. In 2012, it was reported that he was killed in a snowboarding accident.
