The death toll from the Indonesia volcano eruption has risen to 45 after 2 more bodies were discovered on Monday.
Indonesia’s Semeru volcano erupted on 4 December, sending ash clouds and pyroclastic flows over Lumajang, East Java.
Official reports on Monday confirm 9 people are still unaccounted for and 19 people have sustained serious burn wounds.
According to data released from disaster emergency response teams, 6,573 people have since been displaced.
The Indonesia volcano eruption has affected 2,970 homes with Pronojiwo and Candipuro being the worst hit areas in Lumajang district.
Semeru is one of the 127 active volcanoes in Indonesia and is currently at its second level status.
Meanwhile, a second volcano has erupted in Spain’s Canary Islands. The volcano on the island of La Palma has been raging since 19 September, showing no signs of ending.
Hitting the 85 active day mark, the volcano has destroyed 3000 buildings, forcing people to abandon their homes.
Spanish experts say the volcano may continue erupting for up to 3-months.
No deaths were reported from the volcano eruption in Spain to date.
