It’s been exactly a month since the passing of legendary actor, Shona Ferguson.
Actress Connie Ferguson took to Instagram to remember her late husband in a heartfelt tribute.
She says his death feels surreal.
“Exactly a month today and it still feels surreal,” she wrote on Instagram.
She added that she now understands the saying “legends never die”.
“It’s always been said that LEGENDS NEVER DIE! Only now do I really understand that saying and appreciate the following verse in a way I haven’t really before. Revelation 21 : 3-4. “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself Will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away,” she wrote.
Shona passed away a few months before the couple could celebrate their 20th anniversary.
The couple were inseparable and their love inspired many people.
They also built an empire, Ferguson Films, which produced many award-winning series.
The Fergusons bagged the You Spectacular award for ‘Couple of the Year’ in 2008, as well as a Feather Award for the ‘Cutest Couple of the Year’.
Shona died at the age of 47 due to COVID-19-related complications.
At his funeral, Connie said she can’t imagine her life without Shona.
“I can’t imagine my life without you Shon. The past couple of days have been almost like a dream, I still feel like I’m dreaming sometimes and that I’d wake up and none of this would be real. It will all just be a bad dream,” she said.
Message of comfort to others
Connie also sent a message of comfort to all those who have lost their loved ones.
“May everyone who’s lost a loved one find comfort in God’s promise, cherish the earthly memories lived, celebrate the legacy left behind, remain steadfast in mind and be kept in perfect peace, because they TRUST IN THE LORD,” she wrote.
