It’s election season and door to door campaigning is in full swing.
Videos of Faith Mazibuko and Loyiso Masuku have surfaced on social media where Mazibuko is heard repeatedly saying she is eating the chicken feet to support the local economy.
“For the sake of the vote!”
These are the words heard from Loyiso Masuku the Johannesburg ANC deputy secretary and member of the mayoral committee for corporate and shared services.
The video has been received with shock by social media users, saying these are the kinds of things you can expect when politicians want you to vote for them.
So they are not ashamed to say that they are eating those chicken feet for the sake of votes.
Embarrassing, even proud to say that.
Is this how voters are looked down upon. #BandileMasukusWife pic.twitter.com/t2ktRMqL8F— CamGuy (@Cameraguysa) May 20, 2021

In the video there is a hungry child who doesn’t catch their attention.
ANC Leadership feasting on manqina (Chicken feet) whilst a hungry looking child looks on.
They are here for the vote of the poor.
This picture is quite sad and is a symbol of what is BAD about politicians.

She has since clarified that this is a common thing she does when she goes to different communities, adding that she buys food in the community to support local economy, and that amagwinya is her absolute favorite. She has also apologized for the disturbing images.
2/2. Kodwa ngithi ngixolise ukuthi kubeko inkulumo enganambitheki kahle kuyo yona le video.
Injona ibikukuthenga ukudla ngoba silambile nokuxhasa umphakathi, hayi ukuthenga amavoti.
Ngiyaxolisa kakhulu..
