The SAPS says a multidisciplinary team has been working tirelessly to arrest those involved in armed robbery and cash-in-transit heists. So far, police have arrested 23 people in connection with the recent robberies in Gauteng. Among them are three women aged between 33 and 67 years old.
One of the female suspects is a Tshwane metro police officer believed to have been storing weapons that were used during the attack of two cash-in-transit vehicles in Boksburg.
All the 23 suspects are being linked to several cash-in-transit robberies in the country.
They are due to appear in courts facing charges including attempted murder, armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, possession of illegal firearms and ammunition and suspected stolen vehicles.
Vish Naidoo says these guys are not necessarily linked but they are the Police are investigating if they are linked to other robberies and #cashintransitheists that happened in Pretoria and Dobsonville recenlty #BreakfastwithDavid
