New mothers are being urged to refrain from allowing people to kiss their babies under the age of one on the lips. This is a warning from dentist Dr Kometsi Mokuele who says this may lead to infections and oral hygiene problems in young children.
Dr Kay was in conversation with Breakfast with David on 5 July speaking about the oral health of children. The Dr says kissing babies could cause them dental health issues in later life like cavities and dental decay.
He has also called on mothers to ensure that infants do not sleep with a bottle in their mouth.
