Talk about “just doing it”, a woman made a statement by applying for a job at Nike with her entire CV printed on a cake.
Karly Pavlinac Blackburn’s innovative approach at standing out from the crowd has since gone viral on LinkedIn.
In a world where jobs are scarce and recruiters go through hundreds of CV’s a day, Karly wanted to make a mark and even hand delivered her CV cake personally.
The unemployed mother heard about Nike’s “Just Do It” day and decided to take a chance and be proactive.
Karly wanted to make her presence known and chose to print her CV on a cake and apply for a position at one of Nike’s divisions.
There’s no telling if Karly’s CV on a cake caught the attention of anyone at Nike but a number of LinkedIn users thanked Karly for giving them the courage to also take a chance.
Go big or go home they say, and Karly managed to get her edible CV to her desired company in a road trip that was over 4 000 km long.
She travelled from North Carolina all the way to Beaverton, Oregon, walked in, requested to see the person the cake was put together for, all while holding her sleeping baby in one arm.
