Duduzane Zuma’s interview with Sizwe Dhlomo on Kaya Drive still has people talking.
TV presenter Ayanda Thabethe shared her views on what Duduzane, who is the son of former president Jacob Zuma, had to say.
Duduzane did not hold back during the interview, opening up about his relationship with the controversial Gupta family.
The businessman told Sizwe they simply had a business relationship.
“When it comes to the allegations I don’t know how many times I need to defend myself.”
He talked candidly about the work he puts in to be an accomplished businessman.
“The business journey that I have taken, and the levels that I reached at the time, I think for a young business person in this country, second to none.”
Sizwe also quizzed Duduzane about his political ambitions. Duduzane has previously stated that he would like to run for president.
According to Rapport, he has already approached some ANC branches in KwaZulu-Natal for support.

Ayanda Thabethe reacts
Ayanda took to Twitter to comment on some of the remarks Duduzane made. She said Duduzane should not deny that his connections helped him.
“I think Duduzane shouldn’t deny the fact that he used his parent(s) connections to get ahead because there is nothing wrong with that. For which purposes he used those connections and to whose cost is the answer that he owes South Africans,” she tweeted.

Ayanda added that she finds it annoying when people don’t own up about how they started.
“What’s a bit annoying is when someone who got a head start or received a favourable amount of luck denies it … own it and do good with it – full stop.”
Especially when there was corruption involved and you want to portray yourself as an innovative entrepreneur ??

Some Twitter users disagreed with Ayanda’s comments.
“I think you are underrating Duduzani (sic), just because he is Zuma’s son. Many have made it in life without any connections from their parents, why him personally?” one user asked.
