Dealing with rape and sexual assault is one of the most painful things. It is an experience that one lives with for the rest of their lives.
One of the celebrities who suffered sexual trauma is singer Andile Gaelesiwe.

In 2017 Andile Gaelesiwe shocked the world when she revealed that she was raped by her biological father.
“This was my biological father being looked for on this app. More traumatically he was my rapist. The last time I saw this man was when…he forced himself on me.So you can imagine my horror when I see people comment and some even joke re Khumbu and It broke me, I relived. The other reason is to say this man Philemon mofokeng is my father my rapist and my biggest shame and that until he makes this right….,”she wrote in a series of tweets.

Now, the ‘Khumbul’ekhaya’ presenter has shared details about the painful experience in her new book called ‘Andile Gaelesiwe’.

She announced the release of her book on Instagram.
“The exercise of penning this first offering was pure catharsis and purgation. While the story is mine I believe many like me struggling to put the pieces of our lives back after sexual trauma will benefit from this book.
“Writing this book was like climbing an unrelenting mountain but I’m so proud because I did get to the top of that arduous mountain,” she wrote.
