EFF MP and former Generations actor Fana Mokoena has weighed in on the drastic impact the latest pronouncement of lockdown level 4 restrictions.
President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on Sunday all social events, whether indoors or outdoors, are prohibited for 14 days.
There is also a ban on the sale of alcohol for on-site and off-site consumption, and restaurants are closed for sit-ins.
In a series of tweets he shared sharp words saying the government is taking advantage of the people’s patience.
The people of South Africa have done their very best to assist the ANC and their Ramaphosa to navigate this COVID saga. Government takes advantage of the people’s patience. They sat on their laurels and stole money. Lockdowns keep prolonging and people suffering.

The failure of this government to deal effectively deal with the first wave of this pandemic; its genetic kleptomania and its habitual incompetence and corrupt vaccine environment are prolonging absent live audiences for artists. Artists depend on audiences.

The creative economy has been hardest hit.
He also shared the painful reality of artists across the country adding that they are the hardest hit during these times.
It must be registered that the creative economy has suffered the most and the longest under lockdown restrictions. Artists in one way or another rely on numbers of people, whether in live events, tourism etc. This has hit artists the most.
