Khanyi Mbau has been replaced once again by choreographer Khabonina Qubeka, taking us back to Muvhango over a decade ago.
In the long-awaited second season of Mzansi Magic serial Abomama, Mbau will not return her role as Tshidi.
The actress is now shooting Happiness Ever After, a Netflix rom-com that is a sequel to the 2018 rom-com Happiness is a Four-Letter-Word.
The choreographer replaced the reality star more than 10 years ago on SABC’s soapie Muvhango. After Mbau and the late Lindiwe Chibi, Qubeka was the third actor to play the character Doobsie in Muvhango in 2006.
The show’s second season premieres in July, promising more drama, turmoil, and suspense as Tshidi, Fumane, Mapule, and Dora cope with the repercussions from their deeds.
Former Isibaya actress Asavela Mngqithi, former Isithembiso actress Nandi Mbatha, and ISONO’s Senzo Radebe are among the newcomers. Joyce Skefu, Kenneth Nkosi, Nokuthula Mavuso, Masechaba Moshoeshoe, and Unathi Guma, among the original cast members, will return to the programme.
