A trailer showcasing the new Netflix series This Is Pop reveals that American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and streamer T-Pain was struggling with depression after a comment by Usher Raymond hit him hard.
The eight-part series will feature eight different stories from individuals including storylines around:
- Auto-tune
- Stockholm Syndrome
- When Country goes pop
- The Brill building in 4 songs
- The Boyz II men effect
- Hail Brit pop!
- What can a song do?
- Festival rising
The trailer for the first episode features a visibly upset T-Pain, whose real name is Faheem Rasheed Najm, recounting the incident on a flight in 2013, when he was woken up by Usher who told him that he, “f##### up music” by using autotune on everything”.
T-Pain who referred to Usher as his friend at the time thought that the Love in this Club hitmaker was joking around.
