Afriski Mountain Resort in Lesotho confirmed the first snowfall for the season has occurred with a number of mountain passes closing due to hazardous driving conditions.
The SA Weather Service did predict snowfall in parts of the country on Monday after another cold snap gripped the country bringing with it widespread showers and cold weather.
Parts of the Drakensberg are also covered in snow with heavy rains throughout Pietermaritzburg and the KZN midlands.
More snow is expected throughout the week and further road closures in and out of the Drakensberg, Underberg and other neighbouring regions.
