A fifth victim has died after Wednesday’s gruesome Zandspruit mob justice incident that claimed the lives of four others.
Gauteng police have since arrested three people in connection with the murders of the youth.
A group of nine young men from Zandspruit near Honeydew, Johannesburg were taken to a local sports field where they were attacked with weapons and stones, before being restrained with tyres and set alight.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubele said they were working hard on making more arrests.
The vigilante group of more than 200 who attacked the boys claim to be representing the community of Zandspruit, despite there being a dedicated community patrollers forum to help with crime.
The young men were accused of violent crimes in the community.
