Danish giants FC Copenhagen officially announced the signing of Thapelo Maseko from Mamelodi Sundowns.

South African winger Thapelo Maseko has completed a transfer from Mamelodi Sundowns to FC Copenhagen, signing a four-year deal with the Danish side.
The 22-year-old international will take up the number 12 shirt for his new club.
The club’s management praised his direct style, speed, and versatility across both flanks, describing him as an explosive addition to the squad.
FC Copenhagen head coach Bo Svensson noted, “In Thapelo, we get an explosive, dynamic player with exceptional qualities in direct, 1-on-1 situations.”

Maseko, who scored South Africa’s decisive goal against South Korea at the 2026 World Cup, called the move a dream come true at a prestigious European outfit.
Mamelodi Sundowns publicly expressed their gratitude to the player, whilst supporters from both clubs shared warm wishes for his new journey in Europe.
