Podcaster, and co-host of The Rea & Blvck Steph Podcast, Rea Gopane, has just been slammed with a lawsuit after making false claims that Bonang introduced AKA to using cocaine.
Furthermore, he’s made claims that he received this information from TV personality and presenter, Scoop Makhathini.
In April, a new episode of their podcast surfaced – just a week after the death of Anele Tembe – where Rea and Blvck Steph touched on the incident.
They speculated about what could have caused her death and Rea was quick to point to AKA’s history with drugs, using that as the possible answer to the question we’ve all been asking about Anele Tembe.
He dug an even deeper hole for himself when he said that Bonang was the reason behind it all.
Though Blvck Steph tried to be the voice of reason and defuse the situation by repeatedly mentioning that his claims were not true and that they shouldn’t jump to any conclusions – that didn’t stop the flood of outcries, messages of disgust and shock, including from Bonang herself.

She took to Twitter to post an official letter to address these claims:
“It is regrettable that this correspondence is required to be sent to you by way of a social media platform simply because you prefer to hide yourself to avoid facing your legal responsibilities,” she Tweeted.

The letter further explains that Bonang and her legal team had attempted to contact Rea in private, but he avoided all points of contact with them. They then asked for him to provide an immediate apology in writing, and on his online platforms, as well as R500,000 for the damages caused by his statements.
Not long after the post went online, Rea was quick to respond in two tweets: “Hebann. I just cannot believe this woman right now… You have my number. I love you and appreciate you. You inspire me. Take care, Bonang.”
