- The Johannesburg District Court has postponed the extradition case of Zimbabwean national Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma until 22 July.
- Prosecutors requested the postponement to verify his legal status in South Africa, saying he entered the country before he was circulated as a wanted fugitive.
- Tshuma is currently facing a firearm-related charge in South Africa and is wanted in the UK over the alleged murders of his wife and two daughters.
A United Kingdom (UK) murder suspect accused of killing his wife and two daughters has appeared before the Johannesburg District Court.
His court appearance follows his arrest in Johannesburg over the weekend, which drew widespread public attention.
During proceedings on Monday, 13 July 2026, the court postponed the extradition matter to 22 July 2026.
Zimbabwean national Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma is currently facing a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm in South Africa.
Should his extradition be granted, he will stand trial in the United Kingdom in connection with the alleged murders of his wife and two daughters.
His wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma (42), and their two daughters, Natalie (15) and Nala (5), were found dead at their home near Bedford last week.
Why was the extradition case postponed?
The State requested a postponement to verify Tshuma’s legal immigration status in South Africa.
“The information is that he entered the country legally. At the time he entered South Africa, he had not yet been circulated as a wanted fugitive,” said National police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe.
Also present in court were Tshuma’s mother and other relatives, who declined to comment, saying they would allow the legal process to take its course.
