- Armindo Pacula has appeared in court for the murder of DJ Warras and will return on 11 February.
- He faces charges including premeditated murder and conspiracy, while the state plans to oppose his bail.
- The first accused, Victor Majola, has already been denied bail.
The second accused in the murder case of Warrick Stock, affectionately known as DJ Warras, will return to court next week pending further investigations.
25-year-old Armindo Pacula appeared before the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on Monday morning on charges of premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and contravention of the Immigration Act.
The Mozambican national was arrested on Friday evening in an informal settlement in Primrose, Germiston.
DJ Warras was brutally killed last year on Reconciliation Day in the heart of Johannesburg. He was reportedly installing cameras at the Zambesi building when he was fatally shot by men described as “passersby” outside the building.
The state has since denied bail for the first accused, Victor Majola, who allegedly called the hit on Stock. The state has also indicated that it intends to oppose Armindo Pacula’s bail application should he bring it forward.
Pacula’s address details still need to be verified before the matter proceeds. When asked about his documentation, he told the court that the state has his ID, which also still needs to be confirmed.
The magistrate warned him that he will need legal representation, as the charges against him are serious.
Pacula will return to court on 11 February alongside Majola.
