One suspect has been fatally shot and two others arrested following a deadly shootout with Gauteng police on Allendale Road in Midrand.
Police were responding to a tip-off about a Hyundai i20 that had just committed a business robbery in Olivenhoutbosch on Friday afternoon, 30 January 2026.
Gauteng police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhuluwi says the vehicle was spotted in Allendale, and upon seeing blue lights, the suspects sped off, resulting in a high-speed chase and a shootout.
“The vehicle was intercepted at the corner of Allendale Road and Waterfall Drive. One suspect was declared dead on the scene, while the other two were arrested. A firearm and an undisclosed amount of cash were also seized,” she said.
