British Formula One legend Sir Lewis Hamilton has shared the heartbreaking news of the death of his beloved bulldog, Roscoe.
The 40-year-old Ferrari driver announced the tragic loss on Instagram on Monday, 29 September, revealing that Roscoe had been put to sleep on Sunday evening, 28 September, after a difficult battle with pneumonia.
Hamilton wrote that after Roscoe suffered a second bout of the illness, he spent four days on life support “fighting with every bit of strength he had.”
The F1 star explained he then had to make “the hardest decision of my life” to say goodbye to his pet.
He expressed his profound gratitude for the time they shared, calling Roscoe “a beautiful soul, an angel and true friend” and stated, “Bringing Roscoe into my life was the best decision I ever made.”

Hamilton, who also lost his other bulldog, Coco, in 2020, described the experience of having to put his dog to sleep as one of the “most painful,” offering his sympathy to others who have lost a cherished pet.
He concluded his emotional tribute by saying Roscoe passed away “in my arms,” and thanked fans for the “love and support” they had shown his dog over the years.
