Anonymous says ex is blocking his kids from attending his wedding

A listener shares that his ex is insisting on hosting her birthday party on the same weekend as his wedding.
The couple shares children, and his ex wants the kids to attend her 40th birthday celebration instead of the wedding.
Anonymous feels this is deliberate sabotage, as he informed her about the wedding well before she announced her party.
Reaching out to The Best T in the City, he wants advice on how to navigate this delicate situation, as he hopes to have his children present on his special day.
“I’m getting married in November. Back in June, I told my ex-wife the date so she’d know that I want the kids with me for that week and the wedding weekend. A few weeks ago, she messaged me saying she’ll be celebrating her 40th birthday the same weekend and insists she can’t have the party without the kids.
“This really upset me because I feel it’s deliberate and unfair, especially since I informed her well in advance. Everyone around me – my fiancée, friends, and family – keeps telling me not to stress, especially since my kids already know and are comfortable with my partner. But deep down, I’m not at peace.
“My partner’s kids will be at the wedding, and for me, this day isn’t just about us – it’s about uniting our families and making it meaningful for all the children. I can’t imagine saying “I do” without my kids there. I also fear that one day, when they look at the photos, they’ll feel I excluded them from one of the most important days of my life.
“The invites are out, payments made – we’re ready. I even suggested she postpone her celebration to the following week, but she refuses. Honestly, I think the best course of action now is to take legal action against her, because this is nonsense. But my anger is starting to unsettle my fiancée, who feels I may be fighting old wounds instead of the issue at hand. What could be my blind spot here?”
