The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has warned of heavy rains and cold weather conditions that are expected to land in Gauteng on Thursday as a cold front moves across the country.
The cold front will bring extremely cold temperatures that are expected to continue until the end of the week.

The freezing weather may represent winter’s last cold spell before the transition to spring.
Gauteng residents are preparing for a significant drop in temperatures from Thursday into the weekend.
Weather forecasts indicate that Johannesburg could reach a low of 5°C on Thursday, with daytime highs only reaching 12°C. In Pretoria, temperatures are expected to drop to 7°C, with a high of 14°C.
Temperatures are expected to gradually recover from Saturday.
