The best of Point of View: ConCourt Makes Waves with two major rulings, and the ANC is gunning for the City Manager in Tshwane
Point of View with Phemelo Motene

What a week – from courtroom drama to political showdowns and emotional farewells.

The Constitutional Court made waves with two major rulings, hitting pause on Nkosana Makate’s billion-rand payout from Vodacom and shutting down the MK Party’s latest legal challenge against President Cyril Ramaphosa over his decision to appoint Firoz Cachalia as Acting Police Minister.

In Roodepoort, the heartbreaking case of little Jayden-Lee took a chilling turn as his mother, Tiffany Meek, was denied bail.

Meanwhile, political tension is bubbling in Tshwane, where the ANC is gunning for the City Manager and the city’s leadership is at odds. On our legal feature, Facebook posts and false affidavits sparked serious conversations about what can land you in court.

And finally, we said goodbye to a newsroom giant, Sophie Mokoena, who closed the chapter on an incredible 31-year career at the SABC.

From justice and politics to heartbreak and legacy, this week had it all.

Here are our Top 5 Stories of the Week:
