The KwaZulu-Natal Political Killings Task Team has arrested a former municipal manager in connection with the 2017 assassination of former ANC Youth League secretary-general Sindiso Magaqa.
Magaqa was gunned down outside a tuck shop in uMzimkhulu, while two councillors who were with him at the time survived the attack.

The 55-year-old municipal manager, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was arrested in Malvern, Durban.
National Police Spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says he had previously been arrested in 2018 alongside the late uMzimkhulu mayor, a businessman, two ex-police officers, and a hitman.
