A Johannesburg couple that is accused of manufacturing and selling child pornography appeared before the Randburg Magistrates Court on Friday, 20 June 2025.
Darren Wilken and Tiona Moodley were arrested earlier this year after being tracked down by the FBI in a global investigation.
According to reports, ten million images and videos of children used for sexual violation by the couple were discovered by police at Wilken’s apartment in Midrand, Johannesburg.
The duo is facing various charges, including manufacturing and distributing child pornography, possession of drugs, and money laundering.
At their previous court appearance, the matter was postponed, allowing law enforcement authorities to go through pornographic footage that was found at Wilken’s apartment.
This time, the case has been postponed to September to allow the state time to conclude investigations in the matter.
Wilken also needs to undergo consultations with his new lawyer, after recently applying for legal aid.
His initial legal representatives did not pitch in court during the previous appearance.
