Matthew Hughes, 32, the man who repeatedly stalked and broke into rapper Eminem’s home, has been sentenced to 15 to 30 years in prison for first-degree home invasion, with an additional three to seven years and six months for aggravated stalking.
Hughes was convicted last month following a jury trial that included testimony from Eminem himself.
This marks Hughes’ second conviction for invading the rapper’s property.
In 2020, Eminem reportedly woke to find Hughes in his home, who allegedly stated he was there to kill him.
Hughes received five years probation in that case but violated it, leading to jail time. He was paroled in May 2023, with the most recent break-in occurring months later.
He will spend a minimum of 18 years behind bars, prosecutors said. In addition, he is to have no contact with the victim, Marshall Mathers, also known as Eminem.
