Renowned South African fashion designer David Tlale is being celebrated through a compelling short film that highlights Tlale’s inspiring journey and his significant contributions to the global fashion landscape.
The film is produced by multi-talented filmmaker Ofentse Mwase and is prompted by Tlale’s recent recognition by Meta Africa where he was named one of six African creatives making extraordinary contributions.
Expressing his gratitude, Tlale shared his perspective on this unique collaboration:
“My work is always spoken through fabric – in colours, silhouettes and symbols. This time, it speaks through film.
“With @OfentseMwase behind the lens and @MetaAfrica behind the message, we’ve created something bold, exclusive and deeply rooted in African design as we celebrate Africans worldwide.
“It’s more than fashion – it’s a movement, African expression at its finest, where culture meets connection,” wrote Tlale.
A leading force in revolutionising African fashion and revitalising the local textile industry, Tlale’s career is marked by a bold vision and an unwavering commitment to changing the narrative around African fashion.
