Two years after his tragic death, Forbes opened up about how grief has irrevocably shaped her life, leading to a deeper appreciation for presence and peace.
In a heartfelt social media post, Forbes described being triggered by the sound of someone crying, a raw and agonizing wail that instantly transported her back to the devastating moment she learned of AKA’s passing.

“Listening to this, I relive how I cried when I first received the news of my son’s death… that was just over two years ago.”
She recounted collapsing to her knees in despair upon hearing the news, a moment that she knew would forever alter her. “I knew I would never be the same, and I have never been,” Forbes admitted.
Despite the persistent pain, Forbes revealed that her journey through grief has profoundly changed her outlook on life. “Grief has altered me forever, but in that transformation, I found a deeper way of living,” she shared.
This transformation has led her to prioritize what truly matters. “Now, I value life, moments, presence and above all, peace… more than anything else… peace.
