Following a recent court appearance involving her ex-lover, media personality Tebogo Thobejane has issued a heartfelt plea for privacy and understanding as she and her family navigate a period of intense healing.
Thobejane’s statement underscores the profound emotional and psychological toll a “deeply traumatic experience” has had on them, emphasizing their ongoing struggle with PTSD.
In her public address, Thobejane stated:
“We are still carrying the weight of what happened – living with the emotional impact and ongoing effects of PTSD.” She stressed the importance of allowing legal proceedings to unfold, directing those seeking factual clarity to an official press release from the NPA regarding the individuals who have been formally charged.
A particularly difficult aspect for Thobejane has been confronting those who were also affected by the incident that night.
“One of the hardest parts of this entire experience has been facing the people who were with me that night – the ones who were hurt alongside me,”
Despite the immense pain, Thobejane conveyed deep gratitude to the affected families for their “grace, compassion, and not placing blame where there is already so much hurt.” She affirmed her continued prayers and support for their healing process.
“What saddens me most is that life expects us to continue, to move forward, even when we are broken inside,” Thobejane reflected, adding that she is doing her best “one day at a time” to find peace and rebuild.
