The glitz and glamour of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Awards Ceremony, which traditionally happens in June, will be delayed this year.
This past PSL season has been nothing short of captivating, and for many, it will be remembered as the year Mamelodi Sundowns truly solidified their status as a continental powerhouse.
The PSL announced the postponement today, citing Mamelodi Sundowns’ deep runs in both the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2024/25 CAF Champions League Final as the primary reason.
The decision underscores the widespread support for Mamelodi Sundowns as they represent South African football on the international stage.
“The PSL, its Member Clubs, and all stakeholders in professional football across the country are united in their support for Mamelodi Sundowns as they fly the flag for South African football at these prestigious events,” read the official statement from the league.
A new date for the awards ceremony, along with further details, will be communicated by the League in due course.
