The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has issued an urgent public notice via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, calling on all grant beneficiaries who did not receive their May payments to undergo an essential information verification process.
SASSA is specifically requesting that beneficiaries who did not receive their grants, which were disbursed last week starting with the Older Persons’ Grant on Tuesday, May 6th, followed by Disability Grants on Wednesday, May 7th, and Children’s Grants on Thursday, May 8th, visit their nearest SASSA branch without delay.
The agency stated that this verification process is targeting several specific scenarios.

SASSA has also urged beneficiaries to report any inconsistencies between the expected grant amount and the funds they actually received.
Failure to comply with this verification request carries significant consequences.
SASSA has warned that beneficiaries who choose to ignore this crucial process risk immediate suspension of their grant payments. Continued non-compliance could ultimately lead to the permanent cancellation of their social grants.
Affected beneficiaries are strongly advised to visit their local SASSA branch as soon as possible to complete the necessary verification and ensure the uninterrupted continuation of their grant payments.
