Former Rhythm City star Ishmauel Songo has dismissed a death hoax circulating on social media, which falsely claimed that he had passed away.
The post featured a recent picture of Songo alongside an image of him portraying a drug addict in a role, insinuating that he had overdosed.
“So, apparently, I’m dead. I’m deceased—according to social media. Where do I even start? The first time around, they said I was a drug addict,” Songo said.
“They photoshopped a picture of me playing a drug addict and claimed that I was one in real life. They also took to social media, saying I had lost my house and was living on the streets.”
Songo continued, “How they even knew I had a house, I don’t know. Now, they’re saying I’ve passed away. The younger version of me would have reacted differently.”
He reflected on how he would have been deeply affected by such rumours in the past but now he has matured and grown wiser.
“But the Ishmael of today is way too smart and way too mature. If attention is coming my way—whether negative or positive—it means I’m relevant, right?”
“Well, guess what? I’m still alive, and I’m going to live a long life. I am here on earth for a purpose: to change lives,” the actor concluded.
