Disgraced American singer R. Kelly (real name Robert Sylvester Kelly), who is facing a lengthy jail sentence for sexual assault, has discussed his experience in prison in a rare public interview.
In an interview with the podcast Inmate Tea with A&P, which was published on Sunday, March 2, the 58-year-old musician and convicted sex trafficker stated that he continues to compose and perform while incarcerated in a federal prison.
R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison in 2019 for sex trafficking and racketeering.
He was also sentenced to 20 years in prison for child sex crimes in February 2023.
During a seven-minute phone call into the podcast this week, R. Kelly shared that his legal battle isn’t done and claimed that he has written over 25 albums since his incarceration began.
