Miss SA Mia Le Roux has taken the nation through her reasons for her decision to not compete in Miss Universe 2024. Due to health concerns, Miss South Africa withdrew a few days prior to the final, and she is eager to tell the country why.
Le Roux said in a video posted on her Instagram account that she withdrew because she was experiencing vertigo.
Vertigo is a sensation of dizziness where you feel like you or your surroundings are spinning or moving when you’re not. It’s a symptom, not a disease itself, and can be caused by various conditions affecting the inner ear or brain.
She share a video where she addressed the nation:
“Hello everyone, I’m back in South Africa and wanted to reach out to you all. Thank you so much for all of your kind wishes, you support and prayers. I wanted to be transparent with you and share my story. A lot of you would’ve seen the video that I made about vertigo, while I was in Mexico at Miss Universe.”
“Vertigo is a condition where it feels like you are dizzy and there’s a sense of the world spinning around you. It’s very intense and can cause major issues with your imbalance. Mentally I was very story, I was ready, but physically my body was taking strain. I had to even seek medical help in Mexico City,” said Miss SA Mia Le Roux.
