Home Affairs to Revoke Documents of Former Miss SA Finalist Chidimma Adetshina.
The Department of Home Affairs is set to revoke the identity and travel documents of former Miss South Africa finalist, Chidimma Adetshina, and her mother.
On Tuesday, Home Affairs informed Parliament’s portfolio committee that its completed investigation has been handed over to the Hawks for further action.
Chidimma Adetshina and her mother are facing potential fraud charges. The investigation was initiated following public inquiries about Adetshina’s nationality during her participation in the Miss South Africa pageant.
Department officials conducted an inquiry at a residence registered in Adetshina’s name, attempting to locate her mother, who is believed to still be in South Africa.
Chidimma Adetshina is set to compete for the Miss Universe title in Mexico.
The Miss Universe pageant will take place in Mexico on November 17, where Adetshina and current Miss South Africa Mia Le Roux will join contestants from around the globe competing for the prestigious title.
