Presidency Cyril Ramaphosa has proclaimed the late Minister Tito Mboweni to have a special official funeral under category 2.
On Saturday, the former governor of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) passed away following a brief illness. Funeral arrangements were in on at Mboweni’s hometown of Tzaneen, Limpopo, according to presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya.
President Ramaphosa has directed that the National Flag be flown at half-mast at all flag stations from Wednesday morning, Wednesday, 16 October 2024, until the evening of the funeral on 19 October 2024.
“The funeral will feature ceremonial elements provided by the South African Police Service. President Ramaphosa has directed that the national flag be flown at half-mast at all flag stations from tomorrow morning, Wednesday, 16 October 2024, until the evening of the funeral on 19 October 2024.” said the Presidency
