Gauteng police discovered a drug lab containing drugs and processing apparatus worth an estimated R80 million on a site in Douglasdale, Johannesburg. The Organised Crime Unit and the PES Flexi Team uncovered the lab.
Police stated they discovered two unlicensed firearms, ammo for high caliber firearms, pellet guns, and fake firearms on the premises.
Two illegal foreign nationals located on the premises were apprehended.
Police stated the accused individuals will appear in the local Magistrate’s Court in due course. They will face charges for narcotics production, possession of unauthorized firearms, and possession of ammunition.
“The police have been observing and monitoring a plot where suspicious activities were taking place. On Thursday morning, the police executed a search warrant where they discovered that the premises were used to manufacture drugs. Chemicals used to manufacture drugs, machinery, and finished products were found at the premises,” said the SAPS
