After news broke that popular South African rapper Da Les, whose real name is Leslie Mampe, suffered a stroke on Friday, July 26, 2024, rumours started swirling that he was having trouble paying his hospital bill and his family was seeking donations.
This week, the rapper turned podcaster L Tido set the record straight by stating that Da Les’ family did not ask for any donations.
“One thing I do want to put out there is that I see people rejoicing on social media about certain things.
“I actually want to put this out. His family never asked for donations for those who are not clear.”
L Tido explained that this was an initiative by a group of close friends who wanted to help out their boy, and the information spread beyond their inner circle.
He also asked the public to refrain from celebrating or rejoicing when they think someone is going through a tough time.
