Tony Forbes, the father of the late South African rapper AKA, has reached out with a message of support for Da Les, also known as Leslie Mampe, who recently suffered a stroke.
Da Les, whose real name is Lesly Mampe, had a stroke on Friday, July 26th.
The Mampe family shared this news on social media, revealing that the rapper had the stroke at home on Friday and is currently in the hospital.
Although he is in a stable condition, his family has asked the public to keep Da Les in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this challenging time.
AKA and Da Les had a strong working relationship. They collaborated on popular songs like “All Eyez On Me,” “Kontrol,” and “Heaven.”
Just like any friendship, they faced some challenges along the way. Despite rumours of a falling out in 2021, both artists have shown mutual respect for work.
When AKA tragically passed away, Da Les shared his grief and mourned alongside the Forbes family.
