Mia le Roux has made history as the first hearing-impaired Miss South Africa.
The 28-year-old who was born in Sasolburg, Free State and raised in Oudtshoorn, Western Cape has redefined beauty standards by showcasing her many strengths throughout the 2024 Miss SA contest.
A model and part-time B Com Marketing student, le Roux was diagnosed with profound hearing loss at the age of one.
Mia le Roux says her community rallied behind her to give her the gift of hearing, with a cochlear implant and she now wants to break barriers and make a positive impact.
It was a strong Top 3 with Nompumelelo Maduna crowned 1st runner-up and Onalenna Constantin named 2nd runner-up.
Nompumelelo Maduna was crowned first -runner-up and Onalenna Constantin was second-runner-up.
Mia walks away with R1 million in prize money, a sponsored Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe, a lavish serviced apartment and a host of other luxury products.
Describing herself as resilient, dedicated, graceful and kind, Mia has already warmed the hearts of many South Africans with her victory, with many calling her a deserving Queen.
