Newly appointed Minister of Sport, Arts & Culture, Gayton Mckenzie has a question for you, “Did you run today?”
Mckenzie who is seemingly holding up to his promise to hit the road running, literally is preparing for his first “marathon” at the Mandela Day walk and run on Saturday, 20 July.
The Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader whose party joined the Government of National Unity (GNU) says he vows to lose weight and fit the role as Minister of Sport.
After consulting his doctor, Mckenzie said he won’t be going for the marathon just yet and will start with the Mandela Day walk and run.
“Let’s do it, let’s do it! Did you run today?
I’m running my first race, the doctor said I mustn’t start with a marathon, so I’m starting with the Nelson Mandela race.
It’s 5km, 10km or 21km. Let’s do it for Mandela.”
