There is a possible legal battle on the horizon between two TikTok foodies Onezwa Mbola and Nara Smith.
Onezwa Mbola, a South African social media creator who appeared in “MasterChef” season four in 2022 and has since gained popularity on social media for her cooking videos.
She recently announced on social media that she was taking a temporary break from posting content because she felt someone had been stealing her ideas for content.
Nara Smith is a TikToker whose recipes are cooked from scratch and her soft, whispery voice has attracted millions of viewers. Smith shares vlogs and step-by-step instructions on how she bakes and prepares all of her food, from homemade chewing gum to her delicious butter and cheeses.
Following Onezwa Mbola’s claim that she was allegedly copying her content, Nara Smith threatened to take legal action against Mbola. Smith has demanded that Mbola withdraw her claims or risk facing consequences from the law.
“This email serves as a formal notice that if you do not retract your statements and cease making these defamatory claims immediately, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action against you for defamation of character. I strongly urge you to take this matter seriously and to address it promptly to avoid further legal consequences. I expect your prompt response and a public retraction of your false claims”
