Gospel singer Thinah Zungu says he “saw God” in one of the men who broke into his home in Inanda, Durban.
Detailing the ordeal, Zungu said one of the robbers made him and his family were safe, and calmed the situation down to ensure they were not harmed.
Zungu said he was moved when his “favourite thief” asked him to pray for him because he doesn’t like the path he’s on.
“The guy kept me calm in the situation, he kept calling me Manzini when he was asking where things are. That just calmed my spirit down.
That man became my highlight because God used that man for our safety, there is a lot of things that happened in those 2-hours and what I know is that God was with us.
These are the highlights:
I was able to ask him to take out our passports from the car because we are need them soon.
My wife asked for water and he brought i for her.
He gave my wife a blanket to keep her warm.
He gave Ndumiso (son) his phone to hide it, unfortunately some time later he took it but we then found it on the table when we eventually got help.
I didn’t understand when he brought blankets, but he brought 5 blankets so we could be warm. Mind you these blankets were in different rooms.
The last words from him were “Manzini I am sorry my brother please pray for me I don’t like what I’m doing. Who is your wife, I pointed to Zama, he said mama I am sorry. He closed the door after few seconds he opened again and said I am sorry don’t forget to pray for me.”
Thinah Zungu said he doesn’t hold any resentment towards his robbers and will even offer to pay for his favourite thief’s bail if he’s arrested because that day he saw God in him.
