Following various reports about rapper Shebeshxt, real name Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke being involved in a serious car accident over the weekend, his family has confirmed the news.
In a statement shared with the media on Monday afternoon, the family said, “It is with deepest sorrow that we confirm that our beloved son Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, also known to his fans and supporters as “Shebeshxt”, had a tragic motor vehicle accident on 8 June 2024.”
The statement also revealed that the accident unfortunately claimed the life of his beloved daughter Onthatile. The family expressed grief and shock, describing Onthatile as “the angel that warmed up all our hearts.”
Shebeshxt is currently alive in the hospital and receiving medical attention.
During this difficult time, the Chauke family has asked for empathy, consideration, space, and time to cope with this tragedy.
“We are thankful for the outpouring support and upkeep we have received thus far, and we ask that you keep the family in your prayers.”

Onthatile’s primary school, Northern Academy in Polokwane, issued a statement confirming her untimely passing.
According to TshisaLIVE, Department of Transport and Community Safety spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene shared details of the fatal accident on the R37 near the Smelters Mine outside Polokwane in Limpopo on Saturday night.
“A Volkswagen Polo is reported to have overturned after colliding with a heavy motor vehicle, killing the young girl and seriously injuring the driver and another passenger. The cause of the accident is under investigation,” as quoted by the publication.
