36-year-old Itumeleng Khune will conclude his 25 years of service with Kaizer Chiefs this year.
The former South Africa goalkeeper made his professional debut in 2004, he has appeared in 281 games Kaizer Chiefs and 91 for the national team.
His contract expires at the end of June 2024, will have a happy conclusion to his record-breaking tenure with the club, according to a statement the team posted on their website.

Social media was used by Amakhosi supporters to express gratitude to the 36-year-old, whose Soweto club contract expires at the end of June 2024. Kaizer Chief released a statement which said:
“Khune, a stalwart of South African football, has been a pillar of strength for Kaizer Chiefs for over two decades. He arrived as a youngster from Ventersdorp, in the North West, back in 1999. Known for his exceptional goalkeeping skills and leadership on and off the field, Khune started in the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy before being promoted to the senior team at the start of the 2004/05 season.”

Itumeleng Khune is set to be honoured ahead of the team’s final home match of the season.
