Lamiez Holworthy has offered to cover the costs for the tombstone of Ditebogo Junior Phalane.
The 5-year old was shot and killed on Friday, 10 May in Soshanguve when gunmen hijacked his father’s Toyota Hilux bakkie.
Little Ditebogo is being laid to rest on Friday, 17 May and the tragic news of his passing has touched the hearts of most South Africans.
Celebrity DJ, Lamiez Holworthy reached out to the family to offer to cover the costs of Ditebogo Jr’s tombstone.
“I have no words. My heart breaks, not only as a mother but as someone who is proudly Pretorian.
This can’t be our norm – ke hana! I’d like to pay for Ditebogo Jr’s tombstone.”

Lamiez’s pledge to assist the family was well-received by family spokesperson Gift Makoti, who confirmed that a Back a Buddy campaign was started to help Ditebogo Jr’s parents.
A total of R8 349 was raised and the campaign has since been closed.
Ditebogo who was named after his father, used to accompany his father into townships in Soshanguve selling potatoes.
The boy’s devastated father, who lives in Polokwane, had just arrived at their Soshanguve Block UU home at around 22h00 on Friday, 10 May.
Ditebogo Junior had just ran out into their yard to greet his father, when the suspects jumped them, took their bakkie and shot the boy.
