Limpopo-born comedian and gospel artist Kagiso “Pope” Ramoshai was involved in a multi-vehicle crash over the weekend which claimed his life.
The 28-year old’s death was confirmed by his brother Tshepo Ramoshai, who shared that Pope Kagiso died in the early hours of Sunday morning, 14 April.
The crash that claimed Pope Kagiso’s life involved 8 vehicles and occurred on the R71.
“It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Kagiso “Pope” Ramoshai. In this time of grief, we appeal for your compassion, space and time to congregate as a family.
As a family we acknowledge the positive wide spread impact our brother had. It is because of this, that we have made available what was popularly known as POPE T-shirts (colours black/white). These will be sold until Thursday, 10 am ahead of the funeral this Saturday.”
Kagiso “Pope” Ramoshai was reportedly heading home from a pub at around 02h00 when the accident occurred.
Initial reports claimed the car crash took place between Madiba Park and Legae la batho, however there were no fatalities from this incident.
A previous interview that Pope Kagiso did with Richy B and Lejoy on B-Hive Podcast has resurfaced, in which the artist seemingly suggests he will die in a car accident.
